RMP Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA) Task Group

Charge

The Resource Management and Planning (RMP) Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA) Task Group will make recommendations to the Vice Chancellor for RMP. The focus will be on access and representation, campus climate, intergroup relations, and transformation within RMP units and across the UC San Diego campus. The RMP IDEA Task Group will suggest and recommend action-oriented proposals to create more equitable and inclusive community environments.

IDEA Task Group Expectations:

  • Create Draft RMP IDEA mission statement 
  • Draft an RMP IDEA strategic plan
  • Engage in information sessions and discussions regarding diversity-related issues and ideas.
    For example:
    • Identify barriers to achieving greater diversity, brainstorm solutions and provide recommendations to enhance diversity
    • Listen to invited guests who will share life experiences and provide suggestions for enhanced diversity and inclusion
    • Review RMP data and reports related to equity, diversity and inclusion for informed discussions and recommendations
    • Identify and develop programs for VC awareness, approval and implementation
  • Encourage RMP unit wide dialogue on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion matters. Members are liaisons between their unit areas and task group and are expected to engage in two-way communication
  • Explore opportunities for professional advancement and growth
  • Write a draft RMP IDEA Task Group Charge for the next cohort who would focus on the
    1. Implementation of recommendations approved by the VC RMP
    2. The assessment and development of recommendations for the upcoming year
